Fall favorites in the South Sound

October 27, 2017

Fall is a beautiful season here in the Pacific Northwest. The temperatures drop, the fog rolls in and the leaves start changing. The change in season also paints some pretty incredible sunrises and sunsets. Below you will find some of our staff members favorite fall activities in the area.

Kimberly: “We love walking the Chehalis Trail as a family –all bundled up and Lattin’s hot cider in hand. Watching the leaves change throughout the season is breathtaking.”

Deanna: “We have a tradition of going to Lattin’s every year, I love it. We also go to the Rutledge corn maze to do both the regular and haunted mazes every year! Each time they do a new pattern and it’s fun to see what they come up with.

Chelsea: I recently visited the Nisqually Wildlife Refuge and I loved it! Lots of walking trails to look at the peaceful wildlife and a boardwalk to stroll out to the Puget Sound! We also, love going to look at the salmon this time of year at the Tumwater Falls Park!”

Stephani: “Taking the train to Portland is our new fall tradition! Passing all the fall color as the train goes along the river was beautiful.”

Emily: “We like to go to Lattin’s for their fall festival, last weekend in Sept.-last weekend in Oct. apple fritters & cider!  Rylie loves pony rides and face painting.”

Whitney: “I enjoy going out to a pumpkin patch, such as Schilter Family Farms, to pick out our pumpkins. Then we head home to carve them up and enjoy some cider and roasted pumpkin seeds!”
